Summary
Karve is a native Windows application that runs the HTTP requests you author in .http files. It is published by XAKPC Dev Labs. We built Karve to keep your data on your own machine.
In short: Karve has no account system and never uploads your requests, responses, headers, tokens, or files. The only data that leaves your machine, other than the HTTP requests you explicitly choose to run, is anonymous crash diagnostics — described below.
What Stays On Your Device
Everything you create or work with in Karve is stored only on your computer:
- Your .http files and folders (wherever you keep them on disk).
- Your collections, open tabs, and session state.
- Your in-session request history.
- Your application settings and preferences.
These live in your file system and in the app's local data folder. They are never transmitted to XAKPC Dev Labs or to any third party.
Network Requests You Run
When you press Run, Karve sends the HTTP request you wrote directly to the server you specified in that request. Karve is not a proxy — traffic goes straight from your machine to the destination server. We do not see, route, log, or store the contents of your requests or the responses you receive.
Crash Diagnostics (Sentry)
To keep the app stable and fix problems quickly, Karve automatically sends crash reports to Sentry (operated by Functional Software, Inc., sentry.io) when an unexpected error occurs.
What a crash report contains:
- The exception type and stack trace.
- The application version.
- Basic environment information (e.g. operating system version).
What a crash report never contains:
- Your request URLs, headers, query parameters, or bodies.
- Any response data you received.
- The contents of your .http files or any other files.
- Credentials, tokens, or other secrets.
Crash diagnostics are technical data used solely to diagnose and fix defects in Karve. Sentry processes this data on our behalf as a service provider; see Sentry's privacy policy for how they handle it.
What Karve Does Not Do
- No accounts or sign-in. There is nothing to register.
- No advertising. Karve shows no ads and shares nothing with ad networks.
- No tracking or usage analytics beyond the crash diagnostics described above.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. We do not collect personal data to sell or share in the first place.
Children's Privacy
Karve is a developer tool intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes To This Policy
If we change how Karve handles data, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date below. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
